After coming off of a tough loss in week 7 to Leonard Fournette and LSU, the Florida gators have some work to make up if they want to stay in the playoff run. Losing their star quarterback Will Grier to the use of PEDs the gators went to Treon Harris. Treon Harris played a great game going 17-32 with 271 yards and 2 touchdowns. Also the gators defense was the third team of the year to hold Leonard Fournette to under 200 yards this season.
The game was head to head the entire time until Les Miles decided to pull out a trick field goal out of his sleeve that went for a touchdown early in the 4th quarter but solidified the win for the Tigers. Now the gators are preparing to take on the Georgia Bulldogs for week 9 and this is a big game for the Gators in their conference.
Recently the gators have had walk on tryouts for a new kicker. 216 students came to the gators call to step in for Jorge Powell who was run over and injured last game. Austin Hardin, the back up kicker will get a chance to kick against the Bulldogs but coach McElwain would like to keep his options open. Going into this weekend the Gators are ranked 11th in the country and the Bulldogs are 5-2 but this is a must win if the Gators want to stay chasing the playoff picture.
