When you think about early season Heisman candidates, I’m pretty sure your first thought is Leonard Fournette and rightfully so, but don’t write out Senior TCU QB Trevone Boykin. Boykin had a monster performance with 510 total yds and 5 TDs against Iowa State, leading the Horned Frogs to a 45-21 win and still undefeated at 7-0.

Boykin is completing 66.4% of his passes at 2539 yds and 25 tds to only 5 ints also chipping in with 440 yds on the ground with 5 additional TDs on the season. This gives him a strong case to be deep in the Heisman discussion midseason after finishing 4th is the finals a year ago.

Boykin and TCU look to remain undefeated and make their case for a spot in the college football playoff as they go into their bye week this week and then have West Virginia on October 29th.
