I, Am, Estatic. Words can’t express the excitement that I felt looking on my Twitter timeline, and seeing that 5 star SF Miles Bridges committed to my Michigan State Spartans. We already had a very respectable class coming in next season with #14 ranked G Josh Langford, #29 PG Cassius Winston, and #39 ranked C Nick Ward, but this is that true difference maker for a recruiting class. This commitment has catapulted the Spartans to having the NUMBER ONE recruiting class in the nation for 2016.
I have been stressing coming into the 2015 season about State’s chances to contend in the Big Ten with the likes of Maryland’s young talented team with Star guard Melo Trimble, swingman Jake Layman, and 5 star freshman big man Diamond Stone. I knew it was highly unlikely for us to have an amazing run to the Final Four like we did last year, but I hoped we could at least be in the running for a conference championship. That is, however, very much in question with West Virginia transfer guard Eron Harris and rotational forward Alvin Ellis III dealing with suspensions for off the court issues. The 2015 roster was already short on talent and we can’t afford to lose players to off the court mistakes.
With that being said, I’m sure it will be a pretty rough season for my Spartans, but it makes it a whole lot easier to swallow knowing that we have a monster recruiting class coming to reassert MSU’s dominance in the Big Ten and hopefully in college basketball nationally. Oh and another added bonus is that the jury is still out on #3 ranked SF Josh Jackson, even though it’s more likely than not a long shot for 2 top 10 forwards to come to the same school. Either way, I’m excited for the 2016 season and seeing what kind of noise this class will make in East Lansing, MI. On that note, I’ll just leave Miles’ highlights to enjoy so you can understand my excitement.
